Description: The rare, possibly one of a kind, 1965 card has slight wear. The prototype card has not been cut and was never in a package. It measures roughly 5.25" x 4". Please review the pictures to assist with the condition and content of the card. The Marhoefer Meatpacking Company was founded in 1901 as the Kuhner Packing Company. The Marhoefer family would take over in 1945. Based in Muncie, Indiana, the company would aggressively advertise their sausages and hot dogs in conjunction with the local Indianapolis 500. These cards were produced as part of the packaging for their products. This unnumbered card features Ronnie Duman and is one of 18 cards that make up the 1965 Marhoefer Drivers set. Duman made five starts in the Indy 500 with a best finish of sixth in 1968. Duman is a member of the Michigan Motorsports Hall of Fame and the Little 500 Hall of Fame, where he won the Little 500 in 1959 and 1960. After finishing sixth at Indy in 1968, Duman was killed the following race in Milwaukee. Please review the other racing items I have listed at the eBay store, The Checkered Past.
