Description: A set of three vintage 1970 Type 1 press photos, each showing arms and ammunition captured from the members of the Philadelphia Black Panther Party on three different dates that year. The two photos from August 31 and September 1 are from the notorious "bloody 36-hour period that left a total of seven policemen, one of them dead, shot in gunfire." One shows the infamous Police Commissioner Frank Rizzo. The photo dated March 11 refers to a police raid on the headquarters of the Black Unification Society, a related organization. Each photo is about 6" x 8" and is captioned. Good condition as shown. Photos are glossy and show no damage. "Firearms Violation" is handwritten on the back of each, which show typical toning from age. They display very well. An important piece of history and a significant addition to any collection.
